‘Orange Is The New Black’ And ‘Girls’ Stars Took Over The New Tanlines Video

Brooklyn-based duo Tanlines have debuted the video for their Highlights track “Palace,” featuring special appearances by Alex Karpovsky from the Girls, Natasha Lyonne from Orange Is the New Black, Ben Sinclair from Vimeo’s hit series, High Maintenance, and Leo Fitzpatrick from Kids.

The video, co-directed by Alex Karpovsky and Teddy Blanks, features a distressed couple (Lyonne and Tanlines’ Eric Emm) going through the ups and downs of being in a relationship, and the alternate realities explored when we’re not quite sure things will work out, as manifested by Karpovsky.

This was the first time directing for both Karpovsky and Blanks, talking to Urban Outfitters about the experience Blanks said, “It felt more like we were shooting a short film than shooting a music video—many of the women in the sex montage, only onscreen for a few seconds, are accomplished actors. Everyone [agreed to do the video] because when Alex or I reach out to them, they were fans of the band and excited about the song. And Natasha was amazing—she was just on.”

Spoiler: There’s a sex montage. Maybe we can have it all.
