As Taylor Swift’s 1989 world tour continues gaining squad members and selling out major arenas, she took time out of her busy schedule on Wednesday to do some philanthropy. One of her backup dancers, simply known as Toshi, has a baby nephew who is battling cancer. The family of the child had started a GoFundMe account to help cover the cost of some of Baby Ayden’s medical bills. Taylor donated $50k to the cause with a note that says “Baby Ayden, I’m lucky enough to perform with your Uncle Toshi on tour. All of us are praying for you and your mama and sending so much love your way. Love, Taylor.”

Toshi took to Instagram to thank Taylor, saying, “So I get off the plane in Toronto and this is the first thing I see… @taylorswift is an angel, and my family and I can’t thank her enough… She is such an incredible human being… This will help Lil Toshi in this time of need… Let’s pray for him to beat this… This unexpected gift is truly a blessing…” The GoFundMe account had been created with the goal of $20,000, and now has more than $53,000 due to this generous gift.

Taylor Swift is strongly behind the cause of fighting cancer, as her mother, Andrea, was diagnosed with the disease earlier this year. She has made several large donations to help the cause, including another $50k to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for music therapy for cancer patients. Even if you don’t appreciate her musically, it’s hard to argue that the biggest act in music doesn’t do anything for her fans, friends, and family.
