For some reason, there are still people out there who seem to dislike Taylor Swift. But this next story will move the needle for even the staunchest anti-Swift denizens of the internet. The 1989 singer traveled to Grand Junction, Colorado, to spend the day with superfan Delaney Clements, who has been battling cancer for five years.

The 13-year-old came to Swift’s attention via a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #DelaneyMeetTaylor. She recently underwent radiation therapy and is currently in hospice care in her home. According to CBS Denver, the young girl and dedicated Swift fan remains positive.

“I believe I got cancer because I’ve heard the saying that God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers, and I honestly believe that I am one of his strongest soldiers, so he chose me,” Delaney said in a video.

Swift and Delaney spent the day together, with Delaney expressing her shock on Instagram.

“The Taylor Swift walked into my bedroom and spent the afternoon with me just talking and hanging!!!! I am beyond Blessed for everyone’s help and support!!! Thank you!!! Happy holidays!”

Taylor also posted a collage of photos from her visit to her own Instagram.

Delaney’s mother, Wendy Campbell, posted several photos to Facebook and thanked Taylor for the “best Christmas present ever.”
