With the holidays a little more than a month away, it’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas music. British glam rockers The Darkness totally agree, and have released a new track to prove it. “I Am Santa” will be featured on the group’s upcoming album Last of Our Kind as part of the deluxe edition package. First, we get the “A Very Murray Christmas” trailer, and now comes a new Christmas song from The Darkness. This Christmas rules already.
The ’80s VHS-inspired video for “I Am Santa” has everything you could ask for in a glam rock Christmas music video: fake snow, Santa hats, tinsel, and even instruments wrapped up in Christmas wrapping paper. The Darkness are really about bringing people joy this Christmas season with lyrics like “I am Santa / Bringer of joy / I am Santa / Manufacturer and distributor of toys.”
Move over, “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” it’s The Darkness’ time to shine in the holiday spotlight.
