Watch Arcade Fire Perform On ‘The Colbert Report’ With A Giant Stephen Colbert Head

Arcade Fire would be SO pretentious if they weren’t SO good. They’re performing under a new moniker, in paper mâché heads, singing about “isolation in the modern world.” And yet: goddamn is “Afterlife” a great song, one that, in the words of lead singer/tall person Win Butler, makes you want to “[shake] that ass with a little tear in your eye.”

Last night, Arcade, a.k.a. the Reflektors, a.k.a. the Steely Dan of Canada, a.k.a. Win and Régine Chassagne are an adorable indie rock couple stopped by The Colbert Report, where the Butler brothers spoke to Stephen before the full band performed “Normal Person.” Watch the fake-out to end all paper mâché fake-outs below.
