With Apologies To Rick Ross, Here Are The 5 Nominees For Best Original Song At The Oscars

In a perfect world, the Best Original Song category for the 2013 Oscars (taken from the 75-artist shortlist) would look like: Rick Ross (Django Unchained), Arcade Fire (The Hunger Games), Fiona Apple (This Is 40), Adele (Skyfall), and the Black Keys (The Man with the Iron Fists). Well, only one of those five was selected this morning, and it wasn’t the boss behind “100 Black Coffins.” Here’s who the Academy picked:

“Skyfall” by Adele (Skyfall)

“Everybody Needs a Best Friend” by Norah Jones (Ted)

“Before My Time” by Scarlett Johansson, J. Ralph, and Joshua Bell (Chasing Ice)

“Suddenly” by Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables)

“Pi’s Lullaby” by Bombay Jayashri and Mychael Danna (Life of Pi)

Adele >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything else. Can’t stress this enough.
