9/11 Survivor Lauren Manning Gave A Compelling Testimonial At The DNC

Lauren Manning, a 9/11 survivor, delivered a powerful testimonial to Hillary Clinton at the Democratic convention. Manning was a Cantor Fitzgerald employee who worked on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. She suffered severe burns and fought for her life after the terrorist attack, and Manning described how Clinton cared for her during a long, painful recovery.

Manning testified to how Clinton visited her in the hospital and “stood with me as I fought for my life, when I needed her she was there.” The burns covered 80 percent of her body, and she stayed in the hospital for six months. Even after Manning left the hospital, Clinton “checked in for years because she cared.” This speech portrayed Clinton as an empathetic character full of humanity.

Her speech was followed up by one by Rep. Joseph Crowley, who talked about Trump profiting from 9/11 without doing much to help the city and victims of the catastrophe.
