Donald Trump’s Lawyer Had A Childish Response When Faced With Indisputable Poll Data

On Wednesday morning, news arrived that Donald Trump’s campaign had undergone its second major renovation of the summer. Former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski had barely shaken off his old job title when word came down that his replacement, Paul Manafort, appeared in a reported “secret” Ukraine ledger. This may or may not have resulted in his virtual demotion (though he’ll stay on as campaign chairman) while Trump promoted Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager and Stephen Bannon to campaign CEO. And of course, Katrina Pierson did the cable news rounds and denied a “shake-up” to amused CNN guests.

Other surrogates also attempted to mop up the mess, but it was Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen who somehow topped Pierson with his childish response. During a visit to CNN, Cohen also denied any notion of a shake-up, to which host Brianna Keilar responded, “You say it’s not a shake-up, but you guys are down, and it make sense…” Keilar was referring to the many polls (even the one from Breitbart) that show Clinton leading over Trump, but Cohen went into swift denial mode. He immediately asked, “Says who? Says who?” Keilar responded, “Polls, most of them. All of them?” Cohen responded once more, “Says who?” Keilar repeated herself, and Cohen snapped, “Okay. And your question is?”

Poll data, please…

This was one odd interview, which was only missing a foot stomping and an “I know you are, but what am I?” to take things into full playground mode. But we may soon hear an “audio disruptions and echos” explanation for Cohen’s uncooperative responses. Pierson used the same excuse to explain away her insistence that President Obama invaded Afghanistan, and Trump himself blamed a faulty earpiece after he neglected to disavow the KKK.

Here’s Cohen’s full interview with Keilar. He’s not a happy camper.
