Dr. Drew’s HLN Show Gets The Ax Following His ‘Grave Concern’ About Hillary Clinton’s Health

Dr. Drew Pinsky’s HLN show has been cancelled, and folks wonder if this has something to do with him buying into — and negatively speculating about — the conspiracy theories involving Hillary Clinton’s health. The theories are pretty wild and are partially based upon a “recent” viral photo (which was actually taken in February) of her stumbling on some stairs. Also, she’s not as visible as Donald Trump because she’s not holding multiple rallies every day, so opponents decided she’s hiding some massive health problem, which would naturally preclude her from being president. Never mind how Donald Trump is regularly chowing on fried chicken and otherwise maintaining a fast-food diet while his so-called “clean bill of health” came from this guy.

But nonetheless, rumors about Clinton’s health have persisted, thanks to Alex Jones performing mad detective work with a pickle jar. At a Thursday rally, Clinton addressed these rumors as a “fever dream” from Trump and the Alt-Right. Clinton had apparently had enough after Trump’s spokesperson, Katrina Pierson, visited MSNBC to give an armchair diagnosis of brain damage, and people are still raging over that “rigged” pickle jar.

TV personality Pinsky — internist, addiction specialist, and ex-host of Loveline — also got in on the game. He’s made a habit of diagnosing people without ever meeting them, and Pinsky expressed “grave concern” over Clinton’s health. He alluded to a 2012 concussion that she sustained while fainting from the flu, which he believes resulted in brain damage. Here’s part of what Pinsky concluded last week, despite never having treated Clinton:

What is going on with her health care? It’s bizarre. I got to tell you. Maybe they have reasons, but at a distance, it looks bizarre. There ought to be some sort of standard for people that are going to lead the country or are going to making these important decisions … it’s dangerous and it’s concerning, but you can see — and by the way, there were two other things that gravely concerned us. When she hit her head, she had to wear these prism glasses when she came out.

That is brain damage, and it’s affecting her balance … And then number two, when they screened her for heart disease, again, they did an old-fashioned screen. It just seems like she’s getting care from somebody that she met in Arkansas when she was a kid, and you’ve got to wonder. You’ve got to wonder. It’s not so much that her health is a grave concern. It’s that the care she’s getting could make it a concern.

HLN, which is part of the CNN network, has now cancelled the Dr. Drew show after a six-year run. Although no one can definitively say whether this had something to do with his negative Clinton speculation, the timing of the announcement certainly raises questions. CNN published a statement from executive VP Ken Jautz, who says the decision was a mutual agreement. He also praises Pinsky’s “authoritative voice” while the doctor himself raves about what an honor it was to work at HLN. Dr. Drew‘s last episode will air on September 22.
