Eric Trump: My Father Bragged About Sexual Assault Because He Has An ‘Alpha Personality’

During a Monday stop in Colorado — where the Republican nominee visited his campaign offices in Denver — Donald Trump’s middle son, Eric, addressed the press corps. According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Eric Trump incorrectly blamed the Hillary Clinton campaign for releasing the Access Hollywood footage of his dad making degrading comments about women and bragging about groping women without consent.

“I think that’s Hillary going low,” the younger Trump said. “If you look at her track record with women — I think you saw that yesterday with some of the people we had sitting at the debate. It’s horrible. She’ll dig out dirt on someone from 15 years ago when someone is in entertainment.”

Eric went on to stress that The Donald had apologized for the 2005 remarks, before pivoting to call Hillary Clinton’s relationship with women “horrible.” Finally, he made an attempt to cast the comments his father made — which President Obama noted constitute sexual assault — as normal, and as confirmation of Donald’s “alpha” status.

“At the same time, I think it’s locker room banter,” he said, repeating his campaign’s oft-repeated characterization. “I think sometimes when guys are together they get carried away, and sometimes that’s what happens when alpha personalities are in the same presence. At the same time, I’m not saying it’s right. It’s not the person that he is.”
