‘Hamilton’ Is Now A Fundraising Tool For The Hillary Clinton Campaign

Say what you will about Hillary Clinton‘s campaign, they sure know how to raise money. The #ImWithHer crowd has tapped into our undying and unlikely love for rapping founding fathers by staging a one-off performance of Hamilton that will raise money for the Clinton campaign and other downballot Democratic Party campaigns.

Prices for the July 12 matinee/fundraiser are expensive even by Hamilton standards. A general seat will run $2,700 and prices go as high as $100,000 for “event chair” sponsorship. That ticket for the price of a condo will get the purchaser access to the wrap party, a ticket to the Democratic National Convention and two seats at the show. What’s even wilder is Hamilton himself won’t be in attendance, Lin-Manuel Miranda wraps up his run as the title character on the 9th of July.

It’s no secret that Miranda is a fan of the Democratic Party. He rapped alongside President Barack Obama back in March and previously hosted a fundraising concert for the Democratic Hope Fund in November of 2015.

For those who have the cash to throw around, tickets for this special one-off performance are available now at Clinton’s campaign website. Us plebeians can attempt to win our way in via a giveaway that the campaign is hosting which will cover tickets, accommodation and travel costs.
