Hillary Clinton’s New Anti-Trump Ad Reminds The Nation How Children Are Watching

Hillary Clinton released the above attack ad on Donald Trump this week, simply titled “Role Models,” and hooo boy, is it ever a doozy. Rather than outline talking points on why Trump is not fit to be president of the United States of America, she instead chose to let him do the talking. Using footage from his own speeches, the commercial superimposed over super powerful imagery of young, impressionable children who have been listening to his rhetoric this whole time and taking it all in.

“I love the old days, you know what they used to do to guys like that when they’re in a place like this?” Trump asks during a televised rally, as the camera zooms in on the faces of the watching children. “They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.” It continues, as they watch, wide-eyed, “And you can tell them to go [expletive] themselves!”

During one particularly heavy moment, we see the back of one little boy’s head watching Trump, who boasts, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.” After what seems like forever, the screen fades to black with the simple, effective messaging, “Our children are watching. What example will we set for them?”

Although Trump has yet to respond to the video itself, on Friday morning he unleashed another Twitter attack on “Crooked Hillary.” But it seems as though, for now anyway, she wins this round.
