It’s tough to begrudge Mark Zuckerberg any of his lofty ambitions. The creator of Facebook, at least publicly, is a billionaire who seems to want to use his silos full of money for good.

That pattern continued on Wednesday, when Zuckerberg told investors that he has a goal to cure all of the world’s diseases by the end of the 21st Century.

“While helping to connect the world will always be the most important thing that I do, there are more global challenges that I also feel a responsibility to help solve, to create a better world for my daughter and all future generations. Things like helping to cure all disease by the end of the century.”

Zuckerberg posted an open letter on Facebook in December titled “A letter to our daughter,” in which he laid out his goals to fight disease by giving 99 percent of his and his wife’s Facebook shares — which he valued at “about $45 billion’ — to, as he said, “advance this mission.” Zuckerberg noted that, “we have a real shot at preventing, curing or managing all or most of the rest in the next 100 years,” given advancements in technology that have already occurred and are still yet to come.

Earlier Wednesday, Facebook announced an earnings per share figure of 77 cents on revenue of roughly $5.38 billion, 10 percent better than the highest estimates of 41 Wall Street analysts, per CNBC.

In other words, don’t necessarily underestimate Mark Zuckerberg curing all of the world’s diseases. At this point, the man is nonstop.
