A Penn State Student Tried To ‘Annoy’ His Girlfriend By Setting A Fire In Her Dorm Building

There are several different ways a man can annoy his girlfriend. He could delete everything from her DVR, throw out all of her scented candles, or even leave the toilet seat up (especially irritating). All of these actions pale in comparison, though, to setting the place she lives in on fire. Shockingly, that is what 18-year-old college student Benjamin Bishop did to get under his girlfriend’s skin.

The incident happened at Simmons Hall on the campus of Penn State University, where Bishop’s (former) girlfriend currently resides. The young pyromaniac set fire to paper and a pack of cigarettes in a stairwell near her dorm. Luckily, he was caught by a police surveillance camera that was situated in the stairwell. Officers later found him with the charred remnants of the blaze.

After being arrested, Bishop told officers he wanted the fire to trip an alarm, hoping the sound would “annoy” his girlfriend.

Hopefully, Benjamin won’t get too annoyed with his future cellmate.
