Sarah Palin Went On An Odd Riff About Giving Gift Baskets To Immigrants

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Sarah Palin went off about immigrants again in a strange rant disguised as a political speech. However, this time not even the GOP audience she was preaching too appreciated the weird sentiments she was spouting. In an awkward and prolonged speech at a Milwaukee GOP dinner to support Donald Trump, Palin discussed everything from Hillary Clinton and Benghazi to Trump’s qualifications to the way the United States supports immigrants. The audience doesn’t give so much as a smattering of applause to the former Governor of Alaska, and the standing ovation at the end is almost a pity ovation. How the mighty have fallen.

Palin’s comments on how the US treats immigrants were the most confusing part of her whole speech:

What the heck are you thinking, candidates? What the heck are you thinking when you’re actually asking for more immigrants — even illegal immigrants, welcoming them in. Even inducing and seducing them with gift baskets. “Come on over the border and here’s a gift basket of teddy bears and soccer balls.” What are you thinking?

People are inducing immigrants with gift baskets? And why would they be filled with teddy bears and soccer balls? If anyone was actually “seducing” illegal immigrants with gift baskets, metaphorical or otherwise, wouldn’t they be full of better opportunities for education and human rights? Palin continues on her path to incoherence, and it looks like the Republican Party is losing their will to support her crazy speeches.
