A Reported Mass Shooting Near Pittsburgh Leaves Five Dead With Gunmen Still At Large

The Pittsburgh suburb of Wilkinsburg was the site of what Pittsburgh’s CBS affiliate described as “carnage” around 11 PM. Reports vary, with one shooter, two shooters, and a total of four possible suspects being involved in the assault that left at least eight people suffering from gunshots, with four pronounced dead at the scene. The fifth victim died after arriving at the hospital with other victims that remain in critical condition.

The shooting apparently happened during a backyard party party according to CBS Pittsburgh, with a separate report from WPXI indicating that the attack may have been some sort of planned ambush:

The area has now been roped off so police can conduct their investigation. One of the victims was reportedly found on a porch and another was seen by neighbors being taken away in an ambulance.

The suspects have not been apprehended as of publication, but the shooting may have been planned according to reports. Authorities have no released a bulk of information, with a police spokesperson refusing to go live on camera — clip courtesy of Matthew Keys.

We’ll update with more information as it is released.
