Stephen Colbert Fights To Stay Awake While Analyzing The Choices For VP In 2016

With Donald Trump aiming to unleash his choice for vice president on Friday, the time has come for late night to start looking at the pending options each candidate has for their vice president. Trump has likely been the clearest on his options, including Newt Gingrich, the captive Chris Christie, and Indiana governor Mike Pence:

Colbert and his sidekick, ‘Steven Colburt,’ analyze each of the possible choices and toss in a few about Hillary Clinton’s options ahead of the DNC in Philadelphia. Elizabeth Warren is one of the leading names on the democratic side, but Bernie Sanders could easily pop in to tell everybody where to sit and run the VP race. We might also get to see a choice for VP that comes out of nowhere, like the AFLAC Duck or one of the female Ghostbusters — like the character, not the actress playing the character. It’s one of those elections.

It could also be Virginia’s Senator Tim Kaine, the main who lets you know right off the bat that he’s boring. It isn’t like it really matters. We’ve barely seen much of Joe Biden since he became vice president, letting The Onion basically define who he is alongside his smoking hot Firebird. The same could happen for any of these people, especially with Newt Gingrich’s desires for a Moon base in 2020. Going to be cool to get the behind-the-scenes tales on all of those Flintstones episodes.
