Sylvester Stallone is all over the place promoting Creed, and his award chances for it. This means that in a new interview for Variety, he’s talking about Donald Trump, and how he almost ran for office once.

Here’s what he has to say about the Donald: “I love Donald Trump. He’s a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don’t know how that translates to running the world.”

Stallone also clarifies in this interview that he’s not a Republican, even though he supported John McCain in 2008, because he doesn’t want to close his mind “to all sorts of possibilities.” As to which side he has picked for 2016? “Right now, it’s pretty confusing on every side.” I’ll say.

Stallone also revealed that he considered following his friend Arnold Schwarzenegger from acting into politics, after the mayor of Philadelphia suggested it on the set of Rocky Balboa. Luckily (or unluckily, for us), his wife talked him out of it: “You’re not going to be elected. You don’t have that insatiable need to be embraced by people.”

I’d wager that a lot of people would’ve voted for Stallone, anyway. At least he’s still acting, though.
