Watch These Astronauts Submerge A GoPro Camera Into A Floating Ball Of Water

It’s good to get some space news that isn’t related to fiery explosions and death, especially considering that Interstellar is all about bringing some hope back to the galaxy. That’s why this silly video from NASA is a good sight. From the description:

During Expedition 40 in the summer of 2014, NASA astronauts Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman — along with European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst — explored the phenomenon of water surface tension in microgravity on the International Space Station. The crew “submerged” a sealed GoPro camera into a floating ball of water the size of a softball and recorded the activity with a 3-D camera.

Yes, it probably cost a lot of tax money for these guys to goof around in the name of science. That doesn’t mean it isn’t important work. It just means they’re able to have a nice slice of fun while they’re testing things like water density. If they wanted to make me jealous that they got to go into space, they’ve succeeded.
