Yup, it’s yet another story about a new project on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s plate – does this guy ever sleep? I guess being on the road 300 days a year really trains you to bust ass once you make it to Hollywood.

Rocky’s latest project is Rock & A Hard Place, a documentary about a boot camp for young offenders. So, basically it’s Beyond Scared Straight, except on HBO and featuring some stories from Rock’s troubled youth. Here’s how Rock described the documentary on Instagram

ROCK & A HARD PLACE. We’ve officially started production on our next @HBO Documentary Films project. From armed robbery to attempted murder, we’re taking you inside one of the most unique and successful boot camp prisons in the world. They break these young offenders down in a hard core way, only to build them back up to make them better men and women once they’re released. We partnered up with the producers of LOCK UP and HBO’s best documentary filmmakers to bring you a passion project of ours. With my multiple arrests, I was once one of these kids. One poor f*cked up decision after another. I turned my life around, and hopefully along the way we’ll help a few turn theirs around too.

Well, Rock is well-versed in yelling threats in people’s faces, so a boot camp show is pretty squarely in his electrifying wheelhouse. Here’s a pic of The Rock on set…

This isn’t the only Rock HBO project in the works, he’s also set to star in the scripted football series Ballers. Hopefully this HBO/Rock love affair continues and includes more classy takes on crappy A&E shows. Personally, I’m all in for a prestige version of Hoarders.
