Get The Tables: The Dudley Boyz Just Made A Shocking Return To WWE

If you thought the highlight of the New Day vs. Lucha Dragons match on Raw would be Xavier Woods playing ‘New York, New York’ on a trombone, think again.

In a post-SummerSlam shocker, legendary tag team The Dudley Boyz made their return on Raw, putting Xavier Woods through a table with a 3-D and putting The Prime Time Players — and the rest of the WWE tag team division — on notice.

If you’re a newer fan and aren’t familiar with their history, the Dudleys are the only team to have held the WWE, WWF, ECW, WCW, NWA, TNA, and IWGP Tag Team Championships. That’s a hell of an accomplishment, even if the WCW titles they held were the WWE-owned versions. If they end up participating in NXT’s upcoming Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, they could add “NXT Tag Team Champions” to their resume.

There were rumors that the Wyatt Family had started doing the 3-D to lure the Dudleys back onto WWE TV, but that was derailed when Erick Rowan got injured. Bubba Dudley (aka TNA’s Bully Ray) made a solo appearance in this year’s Royal Rumble, but this is the first time Bubba and D-Von have appeared on WWE TV as a tag team since 2005.

For the record, it’s hard to overshadow Xavier Woods playing Frank Sinatra tunes on a trombone.
