Brock Lesnar Got WWE’s Approval To Fight At UFC 200 In The Strangest Way

This week’s biggest non-wrestling wrestling news is the story that Brock Lesnar will be returning to UFC to fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 on July 9, with WWE’s blessing. The Beast Incarnate discussed the inner workings of the deal on his Monday SportsCenter appearance, calling it, “a win for all of us.”

The best part of the story, at least from an absurd humanist point of view, is how Brock got WWE’s blessing to compete. According to Brock, he had to go Over The Top on the company’s 70-year-old owner.

The choice quote, via Sherdog:

Lesnar, 38, described his recent meeting with [Vince] McMahon during a Monday interview on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”

“I said, ‘Listen, old man, we can do this the hard way or the easy way,’” Lesnar chuckled. “I said, ‘Do you wanna arm-wrestle for it?’ and he’s like, ‘Yeah, what the hell.’ So, I ended up beating him, and here we are.”

What we want to know is what would’ve happened if McMahon had hulked up and somehow won an impromptu business arm-wrestle against a dude who trains by carrying trees. The conversation after that would be great. “Sorry, Dana. We can’t do any big cross-promotional work this summer, Brock lost the pissing contest.”
