Brock Lesnar’s Next Opponent Has Been Announced, And At Least It’s Not Alberto Del Rio

It’s almost WrestleMania season, which means “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar will be back in (semi-) regular rotation. Fans in the Houston area got a surprise on Monday when a local commercial for the upcoming live event at the Toyota Center on Jan. 8 not only advertised Lesnar, but his opponent. Who’s the lucky victim, you ask?

Drumroll, please …

(Okay, forget the drumroll. It’s Sheamus.)

Yep, Lesnar will go one-on-one with the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus, one of several men who’ve recently dropped in the “I want to fight Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32” talking point during interviews. Considering that Lesnar’s Dec. 19 appearance in Inglewood had him German suplexing and F-5’ing both Alberto Del Rio and Rusev, is it safe to say we’re using the entire League of Nations to get Brock warmed up for Mania? Should King Barrett be worried? Brock Lesnar vs. King Barrett would be like a monster truck vs. an empty cardboard drink carrier in the parking lot of a Burger King. Like a delicately floating plastic bag vs. a bullet train.

Somewhere there’s a wrestling fan in Houston disappointed that they won’t see another Lesnar vs. Big Show match. Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll get around to it again soon.
