Times are tough for Johnny Manziel, aka Johnny Idiot Face. There are stories of him being drunk at practice and reports that he threatened to kill himself and his ex-girlfriend, and he’s losing what’s left of his support system by refusing to seek help. He says there’s “nothing wrong with partying, bro.”

One wrestling legend who knows the dangers of partying (bro) is WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. Roberts has spent his entire life battling similar demons, and at a healthy, sober 60, he wants to reach out and help Manziel. Earlier this year, he revealed that he’d been trying to get in touch with Johnny, saying, “I’d love to get a hold of him and sit him down. Say what I did in my career and what I did. At least I had a career before I blew it.”

In an interview on Extra Mustard, Roberts continued that effort, explaining that he’ll keep trying despite not hearing anything back.

“I’ve also been reaching out to Johnny Manziel many times. He’s not coming along, but I’ll keep reaching out. I just wonder how much more he’s going to have to suffer before he does something about it. He just made the news again. I’ve been there, I understand, so that’s why I wish he would contact me. I wish I could give him some pointers and maybe I could help him out. I don’t know how much more he can take before he dies.”

Roberts is still trying to lend his incredible wrestling brain to WWE, as well, but is getting a similar response.

“It doesn’t look like I’m going to get the opportunity to help any of these guys, though I wish I would … I’m more than available, but they’ve got their little formula they want to stick with.

“If they did bring me back, I’ll be the first to say, I’d probably do something really stupid and piss everybody off. I’m really stuck on the way I believe, so if someone wasn’t listening to me, I’d probably give him a, ‘What if?’ and throw something out there that would get a charge out of everybody.”

Let’s hope somebody takes Roberts up on his offer. You can read the entire interview here.
