Jinder Mahal Shocked The World At WWE Backlash

Yes, it really happened. Jinder Mahal took down Randy Orton at WWE Backlash on Sunday night to win the WWE Championship in a stunning main event finish. The match seemed destined for an Orton victory after he hit Mahal with an RKO, but Mahal managed to escape the fate of the three count thanks to the Singh brothers who pulled him out of the ring before Orton could go for the cover.

Orton went on to destroy the poor Singh brothers with a vintage double DDT after they pulled Mahal out of the ring, and even threw one headfirst into a table on a bit of a botched spot.

The best part of the entire thing was that the crowd could not believe that they actually had Jinder take the belt off of Orton. The camera caught some amazing shots of the stunned crowd and people with hands on their head in disbelief after the three count.

This is the first WWE Championship victory for a member of the Three Man Band, which is truly a momentous occasion in the company’s illustrious history. It’s going to be really interesting to see where they go from here with Jinder as the champion, but for now, you truly can’t hinder the Jinder because he left Sunday night with the title (and this time it was after he actually won it).
