Listen To The Indian Announcer’s Team Call Jinder Mahal’s Championship Win

We’re all still trying to wrap our heads around the phrase “WWE Champion Jinder Mahal,” but at least we’re coming to terms with it a bit more easily than all the shocked fans in Allstate Arena. While the reactions to Mahal’s victory have been mixed at best, we now have definitive proof that at least two people were thrilled beyond measure that the Maharaja captured the title.

I am referring, of course, to WWE’s Indian announce team, who were in the house at Sunday’s Backlash pay-per-view, and got to call the main event where a Superstar captured the WWE Championship in the name of India. It’s the most endearing audio you’ll hear all day.

Enjoy!

It’s not often that you hear some announcer break into impromptu chants, but I think I speak for everyone when I say this should happen all the time in sports. I mean, Hawk Harrelson probably wants to start White Sox chants every inning, but he doesn’t (I don’t think).

Stop being so uptight all the time, broadcasters. Take a page from these wonderful announcers and let your hair down a little. Let’s hope Bob Costas learns from this and starts some sort of horse-chant after the Belmont Stakes.
