Don’t Worry, Kids: John Cena Will Be Back For Christmas

Well… sort of. It’ll be a blessed Boxing Day for the soprano side of the LETS GO CENA-CENA SUCKS chant.

John Cena had previously been removed from all advertised shows through the rest of the year after the upcoming Hell in z Cell pay-per-view. This would make him miss Survivor Series, a full European tour, and all of the important letters in the TLC pay-per-view.

But don’t fear, tiny children and inexplicable grown-up fans of John Cena: WWE is now advertising him for their December 26 show at Madison Square Garden in New York. He’ll appear as part of their annual holiday tour, and is set to wrestle Sheamus, presumably because Randy Orton will be in Detroit that night.

The next few months should be interesting, as WWE views Cena and Orton as tent poles of their shows. With Cena taking an inordinate amount of time off, and Orton being out with a shoulder injury, it’ll force WWE to rely on, you know, all of those other people us nerds love.

As a reminder, the last time John Cena was off of Raw, there was a definite uptick in the television ratings for Raw. What with ratings being the worst they’ve been in nearly 20 years, this could actually be a great thing for everyone involved. Ratings up! Fresh storylines! Cesaro… not being treated like Cesaro!

Haha, just kidding. Enjoy two months of as much Cool Guy Triple H as possible, probably.
