John Cena Is Entering The World Of One-Man Shows

Mick Foley was perhaps the first pro wrestler to try out the idea of a “one-man show” where you can just tell wrestling stories for a captive audience (or at least, he was the first one to do it in a high-profile way between WWE stints). Many others have followed in Mick’s steps since, like Jim Ross, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, and loads more. And now it seems like a new man is taking on this monumental challenge.

… AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA.

I’m actually going to do you a solid and drop two little tidbits of John Cena news here for you. Two Cena nuggets, if you will. The first is that Cena is being advertised for the July 4th Smackdown Live taping at the Talking Stick Resort in Phoenix. This will be Cena’s first WWE appearance since shortly after WrestleMania.

The second news is that, yes, Cena is going to give one-man shows a shot. A few days after that Phoenix Smackdown appearance, Cena is headed DOWN UNDER for a trio of shows called “Evening with John Cena: The Untold Story, In His Words.” These will take place on July 7th, 8th, and 9th in Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Syndey.

If anyone in Australia can attend these, please do. And if you’re able to take part in the post-show Q&A, please ask him for an embarrassing story about getting caught in the next man’s sweater.
