Even Congress Wants To Know Why It Took John Cena So Long To Propose

It’s still real to Congressman Rod Blum, damnit.

After what felt like way, way too many seasons of Nikki Bella coming to terms with John Cena not wanting to settle down and get married and have tiny little superbabies, Cena won a lot of people a lot of money when he fulfilled the biggest prop bet of the show and proposed to his longtime girlfriend during WrestleMania 33. Cena wore his fanciest jorts and presented the former Divas Champion with one hell of a diamond ring, something I’m sure we’ll get a lot of dramatic close-up shots on Total Bellas. If you’re wondering what took Cena so damn long, don’t worry — you’re not the only ones.

Iowa Representative Blum decided to use the last of his allotted minutes during a congressional hearing to question Administrator of Small Business Linda McMahon about why the inevitable proposal took so long to get around to. Linda deflected the question, saying he would have to ask John Cena himself. Blum then followed up with asking how his state’s native son Seth Rollins can call himself ‘The Kingslayer’ if he didn’t actually murder Triple H in cold blood in front of everyone during that same show.

Just kidding. He’s saving that for the next hearing.
