An NXT Championship Changed Hands At TakeOver: The End

Thus far on Wednesday night, defending champions are 0-for-1 on title defenses at NXT TakeOver: The End. Chad Gable and Jason Jordan lost the NXT Tag Team Championships to The Revival in an outstanding match, marking the first time in the history of the promotion that it has had two-time tag team champs. After a series of near falls – and a near submission in the form of Gable locking Scott Dawson in an ankle lock – The Revival got the win after they threw Gable out of the ring and hit Jordan with a Shatter Machine.

After the match, Jordan and Gable were attacked by a debuting Lovepreet Sangha and Sunny Dhinsa. The pair totally beat down the now-former champs, and even took out Gable by throwing Jordan right into him.

Once the beatdown ended, former Road Warriors manager Paul Ellering appeared at the beginning of the walkway. Sangha and Dhinsa then walked up to Ellering before heading to the back.

There have been some rumblings that Gable and Jordan could get called up to the main roster once WWE’s brand split happens, so it could be fair to assume that dropping the titles clears the way for that to happen. However, the post-match beatdown may mean that the pair will stick around for a bit and feud with the new guys. Either way, as long as we get Gable and Jordan on WWE programming, we’ll be happy.

Oh, and here’s to hoping The Revival have another nice, long reign, because those guys are awesome. Mostly because they like to call their shots on Twitter. This is from Tuesday night…
