Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free NXT TakeOver: New York results, from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. NXT’s WrestleMania weekend event featured matches for every NXT Championship including the United Kingdom Championship, and a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the vacant top title.

NXT TakeOver: New York Results


1. NXT Tag Team Championship Match: War Raiders (c) defeated Aleister Black and Ricochet. The Raiders won the match with a combination backdrop/top rope leg drop on Ricochet. After the match, Black and Ricochet got a standing ovation and bowed to the crowd, ending their time in NXT.

2. NXT North American Championship Match: Velveteen Dream (c) defeated Matt Riddle. Dream entered as a Macho Man inspired Statue of Liberty and win by countering the Bro-mission into a pin. After the match, there was a mutual show of respect.

– KUSHIDA made an appearance in the crowd.

3. United Kingdom Championship Match: WALTER defeated Pete Dunne (c). WALTER hit a powerbomb off the ropes and followed up with a massive top rope splash to win the match and end Pete Dunne’s reign as champion.

4. Fatal Four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship: Shayna Baszler (c) defeated Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Kairi Sane. Belair hit an incredible double KOD, but got choked out by Baszler for the loss.

5. 2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the NXT Championship: Johnny Gargano defeated Adam Cole 2-1 to win the NXT Championship. Cole countered a sunset flip and hit the Last Shot to take the first fall. Gargano was able to even things up at 1-1 with a submission victory via the Gargano Escape. Gargano fought off interference from Undisputed Era, and after dozens of nearfalls, Gargano was able to counter the Last Shot with the Gargano Escape and win the match. Gargano becomes the 15th NXT Champion and the first NXT triple crown winner.

Tommaso Ciampa showed up after the match, hugged Gargano, and raised Gargano and Candice LeRae’s hands.
