WWE’s Stardust Ranked The ‘Star Wars’ Films, And The Results Are Delightful

Stardust is the best. He’s what would happen if Cody Rhodes wore an alien symbiote birthed from the love of Goldust and The Riddler from the 1960s Batman TV show. If you want an authoritative ranking of the Star Wars films from worst to best, who better to ask than a guy from the stars? That’s exactly what Zack Ryder does in this video from WWE Fan Nation, and the results are delightful. If you aren’t familiar with Ryder, he’s the Garfield to Mojo Rowley’s Odie.

It’s always great to see WWE Superstars removed from the pre-written speeches and teleprompters in environments where they can just be themselves, even if they’re intergalactic cat men (?). Stardust giving Ryder grief about having a steady girlfriend is fun, him throwing Ryder under the bus for dorky Instagram posts is even better, and when he says he went to see The Force Awakens “with three men,” I hope he means “The Ascension and Goldust.” In their gear.

In case you’re wondering, here’s how Stardust’s list breaks down:

1. The Force Awakens
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. A New Hope
5. Return of the Jedi
6. Attack of the Clones
7. The Phantom Menace

There are a few bold choices on there — putting the new film ahead of Empire is surprising, as is putting Sith ahead of the original Star Wars — but anyone who puts Phantom Menace on the bottom has an acceptable list. I want a web series where Ryder and Stardust rank every film series like this. I want to know why Stardust thinks Matrix Revolutions is the best one. (He doesn’t. There’s no way he does.)
