Stone Cold Steve Austin Almost Said No To One Of The Best Moments Of WrestleMania 32

Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WrestleMania 32 appearance alongside Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels was inarguably one of the most memorable moments of the night. The trio of legends showed up at the end of the match between The New Day and the recently departed League of Nations, danced a little, then handed out a stunner and some ice cold Steveweisers.

According to Stone Cold, however, it almost didn’t go down that way. Via his appearance on You’re Welcome With Chael Sonnen:

“…we were talking about doing the dance scene because [Woods] was going to be one of the guys to take a Stunner. And they were selling me this and I was thinking, ‘okay, well, ‘Stone Cold’ don’t dance’. I could sit there and just look at him the way ‘Stone Cold’ does that look or that I could just bait him in a little bit by saying, ‘Okay, yeah, I get it, I get it’. I was going to shoot it down, but then I said, ‘you know what? It’s WrestleMania. It’s going to make the pop bigger if I let him get me into it and they think ‘okay’ because [the fans] know what’s coming.”

Austin also revealed that his appearance in Dallas could be the last time you see him in a WWE ring, though, given his previous insistence that he wouldn’t be at WrestleMania 32, let’s never say never on this one.
