Terry Funk Isn’t Happy About Ronda Rousey Starring In A ‘Road House’ Remake

NSFW LANGUAGE WARNING

If you missed the announcement back in September, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be starring in a gender-swapped reboot of the 1989 cult classic Road House, originally starring Patrick Swayze. Rousey described the casting as a “great honor,” saying she “couldn’t be more grateful” to pay tribute to Swayze, and that she’s determined to make sure the new film honors the original.

Not everyone from the original is okay with that.

Pro wrestling legend Terry Funk was asked what he thought about Rousey’s casting in the film, and his response is profane and threatening enough to make even the Iron Sheik proud. Funk says it’s “bullsh*t” that she’s in the remake and he isn’t, and says he wants to get her “in the goddamn ring,” where it wouldn’t “take 10 rounds to kick her ass.” Can we sneak Chainsaw Charlie into the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel or reboot and make this okay? Frankly, every movie should have a cameo from Terry Funk.

If you’ve never seen the original, here’s a clip of The Funker getting ping pong KO’d by Swayze and Sam Elliott, aka “the two reasons my mom owned a copy of Road House on VHS.”
