Bobby Roode Named Who He Thinks Are The Three Best Wrestlers In The World

After over a decade spent in TNA, Bobby Roode is now enjoying a career resurgence in WWE as part of the NXT roster. He and his theme song are gearing up for a grand return to his native Canada, as NXT TakeOver: Toronto goes down on Saturday, so he’s making the media rounds to hype his big match against fellow Canadian Tye Dillinger.

It’s not all “are you going to win Saturday” in these press appearances, of course. In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Roode was asked who he thinks the three best wrestlers in the world are right now.

“That’s a really tough question,” admitted Roode. “Obviously AJ Styles is one, Seth Rollins is another guy that’s really good, and I’ve always been a big fan of Dolph Ziggler’s work. I think he’s amazing, and I would love the opportunity to work with him. It’s so hard to pick just three guys. Being in the WWE and having a look at the roster of NXT, Smackdown, and Raw, there are just a plethora of guys I would love to do some stuff with. But if I have to give you three names, it’s AJ, Seth, and Dolph.”

While his picks aren’t necessarily controversial or anything, it’s a little surprising that, given Roode works exclusively in NXT at the moment, he didn’t name either of the Yellow Brand’s top two stars: Shinsuke Nakamura or Asuka. And while Roode has definitely worked with Styles a time or two in TNA, there’s no telling whether he’ll ever make it to the main WWE roster and get to mix it up with Seth Rollins or Dolph Ziggler.

But we can dream, can’t we? Either of those matchups would definitely be … tremendous.
