Results from the 1/5/17 NXT tapings:

— In a pre-show dark match, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford defeated Adrian Jaoude and Cezar Bononi by pinfall after Ford hit a standing shooting star press.

— The Full Sail crowd was shown a video of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce attacking Asuka in the parking lot.

1. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce defeated Macey Estrella and Sarah Bridges (AKA Crazy Mary Dobson). Peyton distracted the referee, allowing Billie to rake Sarah’s eyes and throw her into Peyton’s knee to get the pin.

— After the match, Billie and Peyton get on the microphone and call out Asuka. Asuka comes to the ring, but Peyton and Billie beat her down. Nikki Cross makes the save and runs off the Australians, but then hits Asuka with a top rope dropkick and stands over her. After Nikki leaves, Asuka goes berserk and fights some referees.

2. Elias Samson defeated Jonathan Cruz. Samson won a quick squash match by pinfall.

3. Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Oney Lorcan. Almas faked an injury, so the referee held Lorcan back to check on him. While the ref was holding Lorcan, Almas hit him with a cheap shot and then hit the hammerlock legsweep DDT for the pin.

4. NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (c) defeated The Revival. #DIY hit their combination knee/kick finisher on both of their opponents and got the pin to retain.

— After the match, the Authors of Pain came to the ring and laid out Gargano and Ciampa.

5. Nikki Cross defeated Kennadi Brink. Brink is a local Florida wrestler. Cross won a quick squash match.

6. Roderick Strong defeated Steve Cutler. Strong got the pin after the Sick Kick.

— After the match, Dasha Fuentes asked Roderick Strong what he has to say about the remarks Andrade Almas made last week. Strong said he doesn’t care about Almas, he’s only here for the NXT Championship.

— Tye Dillinger came to the ring to address the crowd. He said he ended 2016 on a down note, and doesn’t know if he has it in him anymore, because he keeps letting the fans down. He wonders if he’s still a Perfect 10. Sanity came out and Eric Young offered to give him guidance and a direction. Alexander Wolfe offered him the spare Sanity jacket, but Dillinger threw it down. Young gave him another chance to do it “their way,” and said the right decision can feel wrong sometimes, but Dillinger just needs to choose. Then he makes it clear that he’s not asking. Dillinger held up 10 fingers in Young’s face and attacked him. Damo appeared through the crowd and speared Dillinger, then hit him with the One Winged Angel. Damo then put on the jacket to officially join Sanity.

7. Ember Moon defeated Liv Morgan. This was a “respect match,” as the women shook hands before and after. Moon won by pinfall with the Eclipse.

— Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura had a contract signing for their NXT Championship match at TakeOver: San Antonio. Roode downplayed Nakamura’s career achievements, and Nakamura told Roode he likes him because he reminds him of a Shiba Inu. They trade barbs and sign the contract. Nakamura says he’s going to kick Roode’s head off in San Antonio and it will be glorious.

8. Aliyah defeated Mandy Rose. Aliyah got the victory with a submission hold.

9. No Way Jose defeated Kona Reeves. No Way Jose got the pin after the pop-up punch. After the match, Elias Samson interrupted No Way Jose’s celebration with a song. He tried to charge Jose, but got run off.

10. Eric Young defeated Chris Atkins. Young won with his wheelbarrow neckbreaker. He grabbed a microphone and said Dillinger made the wrong choice. Damo crushed Atkins with a senton.

11. TM-61 defeated The Revival. TM-61 won with a quick rollup.

— The Revival tore apart TM-61 after the match, specifically targeting Shane Thorne’s leg. Trainers checked on Thorne when Revival finally left. Thorne was eventually carried off with his knee wrapped.

— William Regal came out and announced that the NXT Women’s Championship match at TakeOver will be a Fatal 4-Way between Asuka, Nikki Cross, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Billie and Peyton run down Nikki and Asuka. Nikki comes to the ring, the Asuka runs in and clears the Australians from the ring. Nikki and Asuka have a staredown, but Billie and Peyton jump them from behind. They get run off again, and security hits the ring to break it all up. Nikki and Asuka take them all out and Asuka hits a spin kick on Nikki. Security pulls Asuka out of the ring and Nikki dives off the top rope onto all of them.

12. Shinsuke Nakamura and Tajiri defeated Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe.

— After the match, Chris Hero came out in a suit, with Kassius Ohno graphics on the big screen. He showed Nakamura his elbow and then left. It is possible this segment and the tag match were dark and won’t be televised.
