Ric Flair Has Some Unusual Ideas For Marquee WrestleMania 33 Matches

Can you feel it? We’re almost to the most wonderful time of the year. No, not the holidays. (Happy holidays, everyone!) I’m talking about the Road to WrestleMania! Yes, soon the Royal Rumble will be upon us. And while WWE has already begun laying the groundwork for at least one Mania match, the speculation is flying as to what huge bouts the company is lining up for the biggest show of the year. Luckily, Ric Flair is here to help us with the guesswork.

On the latest edition of his podcast, Flair laid out his ideas for what he believes would be the three biggest possible matches WWE could put on at WrestleMania 33. One of them makes a lot of sense, while the other two … you know what, let’s just list them.

– Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg. Sure, fine. It’s probably going to happen anyway and it’ll probably be a big draw.
– Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey. Did you know Ric Flair has a high opinion of his daughter?
– Shane McMahon vs. Triple H. Buh?

Let’s allow the Nature Boy to speak for himself, shall we?

“I would love to see Charlotte, my daughter, against Ronda Rousey, which I think would be huge. I know she’ll be in a main event somewhere and I think they could make that work. But, as [co-host Conrad Thompson] and I both know, Ronda has to win this month or her credibility would be hard to sell, so I just know Charlotte will be in a main event somewhere.”

“I think the biggest match people want to see, but I’m not sure it’ll happen, will be Shane McMahon against Hunter. I said that last week. I mean, that would knock you off your chair and that’s not a job for a chair.”

The biggest match people want to see! Yes, they definitely want to see Shane “woof that Undertaker match” McMahon against Triple H. Not Rollins vs. Triple H, the story that has been built up for two years. Definitely not that one. And have you heard about Ric’s daughter, Charlotte Flair? Well, okay, I’ll accept Charlotte vs. Ronda if it means a Bayley vs. Sasha Banks singles match for the women’s title. Fine, Ric Flair, fine, you’re kind of making sense. Just not about Shane McMahon vs. Triple H.
