Sasha Banks And Charlotte Will Reportedly Have The First WWE Women’s Hell In A Cell Match

On Monday night’s episode of Raw, Sasha Banks and Charlotte made WWE history by being just the second women to main event the show, ever. Banks and Bayley had previously made history by being the first to headline a WWE Network special (or “pay-per-view” in simpler times) when they competed in the first Iron Woman match at NXT TakeOver: Respect. Since Sasha Banks is so used to making history at this point, it looks like she’s prepared to do it one more time with Charlotte.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the current plan is for Banks and Charlotte to meet one more time at the next Raw pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell. They’ll fight for Banks’ newly-won Raw Women’s Championship, but this time they’ll be the first two women to ever compete in a Hell in a Cell match.

“I guess their match at the Hell in a Cell show is going to be a major thing on the show, because they’re going to be in Hell in a Cell.”

Meltzer, as always, giving the Wrestling Observer Radio listeners the short and sweet scoops. This match will join Roman Reigns and Rusev for the United States Championship as the two Hell in a Cell bouts on the PPV, which will probably be enough Hells in Cells for one event.

To date, there have been 33 Hell in a Cell matches in WWE since the concept was introduced in 1997, with the most recent being Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania 33. This women’s Hell in a Cell match will … probably be a little bit better than that match.
