WWE Smackdown Live Open Discussion Thread 10/25/16

Tonight, on the With Spandex WWE Smackdown Live open discussion thread for October 25, 2016:

In the battle for brand supremacy, SmackDown LIVE may take a commanding lead thanks to the show that Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan have planned for tonight’s action-packed episode of the blue brand. — via WWE.com

Our five-point preview:

1. Dean Ambrose has pinned the WWE Champion! It hasn’t happened yet, but it will tonight! You see, if Dean Ambrose can somehow find a way to defeat AJ Styles in a non-title main event, he’ll become the No. 1 contender to the title. It’s a move so telegraphed that the Three Amigos are already on their way to Santo Poco.

2. WHITHER JAMES ELLSWORTH? Ellsworth got a second straight win over Styles last week, so … Ambrose gets a shot at a title opportunity. Sure, whatever. The real question about tonight’s episode is if everyone’s favorite man with two hands will pop up, and in what capacity.

3. Curt Hawkins got his debut last week rudely interrupted by Apollo Crews, who tried to FIGHT him! The nerve! Will Hawkins finally make his debut this week? Probably not, but with Eva Marie off shooting a movie with Nicolas Cage, Hawkins getting out of matches is an acceptable substitute for All Red Everything.

4. Becky Lynch makes her return! Expect some dirty looks from Alexa Bliss, who is the reigning, undisputed lineal champion of dirty looks.

5. Last week, Baron Corbin dispatched Jack Swagger with surprising ease and then called out General Manager Daniel Bryan. Will he reap what he has sown? Probably not.

Congratulations! You got all the way through this five-point preview without having to be reminded of the Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton feud.

Aw, nuts.
