WWE Smackdown Live Open Discussion Thread (7/9/19)

WWE Smackdown Live

Tonight on the With Spandex WWE Smackdown Live open discussion thread:

After bickering over who deserved a WWE Championship opportunity more, Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler were given the chance to earn a chance at a title, though not the one they were looking for. Shane McMahon made them join forces to battle Heavy Machinery, with the winner being placed into the Smackdown Tag Team Title Match at WWE Extreme Rules. Unfortunately for them, KO & The Showoff could not get on the same page, leading to Otis & Tucker’s victory. After another argument, Owens dropped Ziggler with a Stunner, declaring that Smackdown Live was his show. The two will get a chance to settle the score when they go one-on-one on the blue brand. Who will emerge victorious from this heated battle? Find out tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network! (via WWE.com)

Our five-point preview:

1. Raw was a big ol’ pile of shit this week, so maybe it’s Smackdown’s turn to be good? Finn vs. Nak is a good start.

2. Kevin Owens will face Dolph Ziggler one-on-one. Can we make this Dolph Ziggler sitting quietly while Kevin Owens roasts him for 10 minutes?

3. Aleister Black’s opponent for Extreme Rules will be revealed! I hope they tell him it’s “nobody” and make him sit in that room for an entire pay-per-view. Better idea: the opponent is at Full Sail. Go back there.

4. Smackdown’s three tag teams will hold a Tag Team Summit. The first motion: get more tag teams.

5. Nikki Cross takes on Carmella, because I guess those two have signed up for the wild card indefinitely. Remember when the shows had divisions deeper than three people?

As always, +1 your favorite comments from tonight’s open thread and give them a thumbs up and we’ll include 10 of the best in tomorrow’s Best and Worst of Smackdown Live report. Make sure to flip your comments to “newest” in the drop down menu under “discussion,” and enjoy the show!
