Chance The Rapper Confirms A Kanye West Collab Album Called ‘Good Ass Job’

After the high of “Ultralight Beam,” a full-on collaborative album between Chance the Rapper and Kanye West seems like every rap nerd’s dream. And Chance’s own lyric from the song — “I met Kanye West, I’m never going to fail / He said let’s do a good ass job with Chance Three — predicted a collab album dubbed Good Ass Job that is now on the way.

In an interview with Los Angeles’ Power 106, Chance said that album is definitely something close to his heart:

“The Good Ass Job, that’s something that’s just been a dream for me. I’m a Chicago kid, so I’m a super Ye fan, and I used to watch all the, you know, YouTube videos and, like, him speaking. And I remember just watching a video a long time ago where he would go on, he was explaining, you know, how you have your College Dropout, and then you go back you have your Late Registration, and then you finally get your Graduation. And after you graduate, you gotta go get a Good Ass Job, so that was a thing in my head forever, and, you know, if you’re a Ye fan, you know, then he went on 808s & Heartbreak, and then you’re like, “OK, Good Ass Job will be next,” and then he does Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne. And all of those things are albums that shaped my life, but I just, I cannot wait to, you know, really just bunker down. We definitely have at least two songs I could say I know would be on Good Ass Job, but to be, you know, back in the bunker and be at the spot and have that time to just sit and make stuff everyday is my dream.”

Kanye has been floating the idea of an album called Good Ass Job since he wrapped his College trilogy and Chance’s idol worship is clear. Beyond the “Beam” verse, he also nodded to the title with the first track of his star-making mixtape Acid Rap. So, actually being a part of making Job a reality has to be a bit of a dream. He’s mentioned how much he wants to get with Yeezy before in an interview on Beats 1…

…and it seems to be coming true.

Beyond the big news that Job is coming, Chance said he’s seen Kanye’s wild #SaintPablo show and he has a few notes.

“I know that he did it on purpose ’cause he does sh*t like this on purpose, but, bro, please turn that sh*t down,” he said. “Literally, my stomach felt like I had, like, internal bleeding because of how much it was shaking and how loud it was.”

Chance also talked a bit about that Kanye x Drake album that’s been on everyone’s mind since those mysterious billboards popped up.

“I know Ye’s working on something with Drake, which I haven’t heard any of the songs from yet, but I’m sure it’s all I’m gonna be listening to,” he said.

Us too, Chance — oh, and your own joint album with Ye. Hopefully we won’t have to wait a long ass time for these to get to us.
