DMX Nixed A Few Upcoming Shows Due To A Reported ‘Medical Emergency’

It seems like some health woes are keeping DMX off the road for the time being. According to TMZ, the It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot rapper had to cancel a set of upcoming concerts due to what is being described as a “medical emergency.” X was scheduled to perform in Santa Ana, California on Tuesday night, but never showed. Then he pushed back two further dates this week in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Last week, on April 21, DMX participated in a 20th anniversary Ruff Ryders reunion at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Though the gig went over reasonably well, many in the audience were a bit taken aback by X’s extended, disjointed rants throughout his time onstage. His set was also apparently hampered by some technical difficulties, which didn’t help matters.

According to TMZ, people close to DMX are worried that he may have relapsed into some form of substance abuse. The new site is reporting that X was seen drinking heavily the night of the Ruff Ryders reunion, and some are openly wondering if he may have slipped in his recovery.

Nothing has been corroborated through official channels at this point however. We’ll update this story as it continues to develop.
