Kanye West Ended His Meadows Fest Set Abruptly Citing A ‘Family Emergency’

Kanye West has been traversing the country on his Saint Pablo tour without a hitch, even with an insane floating stage hovering above the crowd. However, when it came time to perform at the Meadowlands Fest in New York on Sunday night he abruptly cut his headlining set short, citing a family emergency and immediately left the stage.

Details are scant at the moment but Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney are currently in Paris according to her Snapchat account and sister-in-law Khloe was spotted at the Cleveland Cavaliers Wine & Gold scrimmage in Cleveland earlier in the day.

What is known is Kanye’s show at the festival started with a bang, literally, as fireworks introduced him and he jumped into a performance of “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.” According to Billboard he suddenly ended the performance at 9:40, with 20 minutes left on his set time. The moment is captured in the video above where Kanye stops his rendition of his 2008 hit “Heartless” and announces to the crowd “I’m sorry, family emergency I have to stop the show.”

The crowd groans in disappointment as Kanye exits and the lights cut off and that was that. Whatever the emergency is Kanye hasn’t announced it on his sporadically active Twitter account or new Instagram account, and Kim has yet to update her Snapchat story in over two hours.
