Kendrick Lamar Is Hosting A ‘DAMN.’ Album Signing In His Old Neighborhood

Kendrick Lamar has spent the last month or so giving back to his fans, and now he has one last gift he’s giving to 3,000 lucky K. Dot fans in Compton this afternoon. On the final day of the first-week sales window for his new album DAMN. Kung-Fu Kenny is signing autographs for the first 3,000 fans who cop his album at a Best Buy in Compton.

It’s the end of a long week for Kendrick that included dropping yet another opus of an album, tearing down the main stage at Coachella and basically snatching rap’s crown, title belt, throne and whatever other championing artifact there is to own as the greatest current rapper. And for those who couldn’t get their hands on the special edition vinyl copies of DAMN. this is yet another chance to get K. Dot’s John Hancock to add to their collection of memorabilia.

The next step from here has to be a tour for Kendrick, right? Whether he does a standard arena tour, or he cobbles together some sort of truncated stadium tour is anybody’s guess, but the best bet for all parties involved might be a TDE roster tour with K. Dot headlining and Schoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, SZA and everybody else opening up. Or maybe Kendrick bringing out Future at Coachella is a sign that they’ll have some sort of collaboration or tour together in the Future. Who knows? The only thing that’s for sure right now is Kendrick is owning the moment and with as loaded as DAMN. is the momentum should carry through the entire summer.
