Lil Yachty Explained Why His ‘Blow That D*ck Like A Cello’ Lyric Makes No Sense

Lil Yachty’s Teenage Emotions rollout ended last Friday with the release of the massive and messy album, but it started out with a head-scratcher. Ever since the King of Teens dropped his Migos-assisted track “Peek A Boo,” fans and haters alike have clustered around the line “she blow that d*ck like a cello” to try and figure out what was going on in the young rapper’s mind. Thanks to an explanation by Yachty himself, we finally know. He just goofed.

“OK, let’s stop for a second,” he said in a video for Genius. “Before you come at me, I’ma let you know. I’ma blame my A&R. Because he listened to that song many times and he allowed me to say that. I guess for a second, I thought a cello was a woodwind instrument and it is not. And nobody ever said sh*t. Nobody ever pulled up a pic and said, “Hey man. I don’t know if you know what this is, but it ain’t that.” I f*cked up. I thought Squidward played the cello. He don’t. That’s a flute. I f*cked up. But it do sound good.”

This mea culpa proves the internet rule anything correcting something else is bound to contain at least one mistake. Yachty took the form to new levels by doing it to himself. Squidward plays the clarinet, which Yachty would know with just a casual glance at a crop of “Mask Off” memes. Of course, fans were less than forgiving so soon after CelloGate.

All clear. Now we can get back to wondering about his suit game.
