Miguel’s ‘Crazy In Love’ Cover For ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Will Give You Goosebumps

If you were to ask how Miguel how he spent his summer of 2016, he’d probably tell you that he travelled the country crushing a few festivals, spent some time partying with women in bikinis and ScHoolboy Q, and that he released an incredibly adventurous remix EP in Rogue Waves. But what he may not have revealed is that he covered one of Beyonce’s most beloved songs for the Fifty Shades Darker Soundtrack.

Yes, the movie that your single aunt wants to talk with you about, but you have no interest in carrying on that conversation is hitting theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day 2017, and the debut of the film’s trailer is accompanied by a new cover of “Crazy In Love” by the one and only Miguel. If you recall, Beyonce recorded a slowed down rendition of her beloved single for the first chapter of the trilogy in 2015. It’s easy to guess that the first version resonated so strongly with audiences that they’d want to keep the tradition alive with another sexy singer in Miguel. And you’ll want to remember, while the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise may be considered kind of a joke, the soundtrack has performed quite well with huge hits like Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” the latter of which won a Grammy and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Will Miguel net a trophy for his cover? Well, it’s too early to tell if he has that wrapped up. But clearly he’s the best part of the entire trailer.
