Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West were engaged in a really testy beef in what seems like ages ago now back in January. Maybe we shouldn’t use the past tense because Wiz sounds like he’s not fully ready to let bygones be bygones.
The “King of Everything” was a guest on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club Friday morning and the topic of the Twitter war between him, Kanye and Amber Rose came up. When asked about his take on the situation, Wiz admits that he still feels some type of way. He points out their initial effort to squash things by phone back in February and how Kanye has played it publicly since then.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s squashed though,” Wiz said, “because like when you see him talk about it, it doesn’t add up to what he said to me on the phone.” When Angela Yee asks Wiz if he just doesn’t like Kanye, he repeated the statement back as a question before saying “you said that” and “Who would in that situation?” Somewhere, Taylor Swift is nodding her head in agreement with everything the Pittsburgh rapper has to say.
The conversation covers his relationship with his ex-wife Amber Rose and the status of their relationship as parents and former lovers. He admitted to being in his feelings initially — like anyone would — but he managed to work through it. “I kind of had to boss up, you know what I mean,” Wiz said. “It took a lot of me just knowing myself and being myself, reacting to the situation how I would. As soon as I started doing that then things started working out in my favor.” Now, after they’ve settled their divorce and gone through all the dating rumors that celeb couples have to sift through, they’re in a much better place to co-parent and be friends with Rose.
So, Wiz is good with Amber, but not so much with Kanye.
