After having to push back the release date from March, New York rapper Young M.A. has finally dropped her debut EP. Titled Herstory, the new project is fleshed out to seven songs, including the single “Hot Sauce,” and her breakout hit “OOOUUU.” For the most part, the songs contain only M.A., except for track three, the song “JOOTD,” which comes with a guest contribution from Monica.

In a recent interview with Fader, M.A. talked about the pressure that comes with releasing new music. “I know people are looking forward to an album from me, but I don’t think it needs to be rushed either,” she said. “Nowadays albums don’t come out as frequent as they used to, so I’m not too sure if I’ma drop an album as soon as people would think. I’m just trying to go off a vibe: how they feeling this, how they feeling that?”

She also talked about her new position as a role model for her ever-expanding fan base. “I’m pursuing my dreams, my passion for it. And now that I know a lot of people look up to me, I have another reason to do it.”
