TV Avalanche Podcast, Episode 51: ‘Altered Carbon,’ ‘Strike Back,’ ‘A.P. Bio’ & More

Netflix/Cinemax

Welcome to another episode of TV Avalanche, where Brian Grubb and I try to sort out the best, worst, and most interesting things happening in Peak TV.

We start off this week’s show with a look at peak TV reboot fever, thanks to last week’s news about potential new versions of Murphy Brown, Magnum P.I. and Cagney & Lacey. Then we get to reviewing Netflix’s latest sci-fi drama, Altered Carbon (which I wrote about earlier today), set in a future where body-swapping is routine. From there, we talk about NBC’s new high school comedy A.P. Bio with Glenn Howerton, which has a sneak preview on Thursday, and close out the review portion by discussing yet another reboot: the Cinemax action drama Strike Back. After a brief discussion of Meryl Streep coming to TV to star in Big Little Lies season two, we close the show with a TV-centric Super Bowl preview where we draft the best episodes to debut right after the big game.

As always, you can send questions to tvavalanche@uproxx.com, or tweet with the hashtag #TVAvalanche.
