50 Cent, ScHoolboy Q Team Up For “Flip On You”

“Got a bunch of enemies, I count my friends on one hand…”

Things tend to get contentious when 50 Cent’s the topic of discussion. But here’s one thing we’ll all be able to agree on – “Flip On You,” the latest Animal Ambition leak, is damn good.

An on-point delivery from Fif is what really elevates it – where his recent material has fallen off, in my opinion, is an over-emphasis on that aggressive intonation and a lack of creative wordplay. Neither of those problems rear their head on ‘You.’ And not that anybody needs a reason to listen to ScHoolboy, but Q sounds extra charged. Might have something to do with hopping on a track with his idol.

The track was originally set to appear on Oxymoron, but didn’t make the cut for stylistic reasons. Not sure why Q decided against using it for himself. It might not fit in with the rest of ‘Oxy’ perfectly, but in a vacuum, it would have made for one of the better tracks on the project.

Q’s loss is 50’s gain as “Flip On You” ends up on the deluxe edition of Animal Ambition. The album’s out next Tuesday but get an early listen to the standard edition here.
